In the UK it was issued in March 1996, with US release in July 1996. It was also issued in Australia and Europe a few months before that (Nov 1995), however a 'Stupid Girl Remixes' single was issued in Australia in August 1996.

The vinyl format in the UK for "Stupid Girl" was in a TakTile TM cloth bag, with a plastic G on the front. It was limited to 13,000 copies, half of them in red and half in blue.
