Strathclyde

Strathclyde (Srath Chluaidh in Gaelic) was one of the regional council areas of Scotland from 1975 to 1996. It was named after the Kingdom of Strathclyde, which covered broadly the same area with the very significant exception of Argyll, also of Bute and Arran.1
