Storm FM
Storm FM is the official student radio station serving the University of Wales, Bangor, ran primarily by students from professional studios based at the college road campus. Storm is broadcast at 87.7FM within a short radius of the transmitter based at the student halls of residence on Ffriddeodd Road, in Upper Bangor. It is also possible for staff and students to listen online at www.stormfm.com

Storm FM was set up in October 2001 by the then President of the Students' Union, Niall Duffy. The first show was broadcast at 1:00pm on March 19 2003 and was presented by staff members Simon Owen and Malcolm Hanks and the launch party was then hosted by student Laura Kennedy.

Storm FM was nominated for 'Best Station Sound' at the Student Radio Awards 2004. The station was nominated for the quality of the sound transmitted and the jingles and other features which give the station its identity.
