Stokes Bay (grid ref.: {{gbmaprim|SZ590980|SZ 590 980}}) lies just off Gosport, between Portsmouth and Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire. Here all large warships (e.g. US aircraft carriers) anchor as Portsmouth is not big enough to berth them.
