Stockholm

{{Audio|sv-Stockholm.ogg|Stockholm}} {{IPA|}} is the capital of Sweden, located on the east coast at the entrance of lake Mälaren. With a population of 1,200,000 it is the largest city in Sweden.

Geography

The central parts of the city comprise fourteen islands and the banks of the archipelago where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea. They are joined together by 53 bridges. The city center is virtually situated on the water, in the bay Riddarfjärden. (Coordinates: {{coor dm|59|21|N|18|4|E|}}.)
