Stew Leonard's
Stew Leonard's is a small chain of supermarkets in the northern suburbs of New York City that calls itself "The World's Largest Dairy Store." Founded in 1969 with seven employees in Norwalk, Connecticut, there currently are also stores in Danbury, Connecticut, and in Yonkers, New York. Plans are in the works to open a fourth store in Orange, Connecticut. There are also tentative plans to open a store on Long Island in the town of Farmingdale; the Long Island store technically exists, but its current zoning permit has only allowed the wine shop portion to be open and is pending in court.
