Steve Burns

Steve Burns (b. October 9, 1973) is a rock guitarist and former television actor. Though Burns' primary aim is music, he has had somewhat more fortune in acting; he is most well-known for his hosting of the television show Blue's Clues on Nickelodeon from 1996 to 2002. After leaving the show, Burns began work on and, in 2003, released a début album, Songs for Dustmites, with assistance from friends Steven Drozd, drummer for The Flaming Lips, and producer Dave Fridmann of Tarbox Road Studios. During the recording, he also had a role as an engineer aboard a spacecraft in The Flaming Lips' film, Christmas on Mars.

Music

Songs For Dustmites received (overall) good reviews from critics, many of whom were surprised at the work presented by the former host of Blue's Clues. All during late 2003 and 2004, Steve Burns toured. During the latter half of the tour, fans began to notice that Burns had become more distant from the fans, becoming less enthusiastic, and seemed wearied. Rumors circulating state that he may stop participation in the music industry altogether or he may release another album, whose titled is reported to be Deep Sea Exploration. Steve has been silent about these rumors so far; many fans hope that this silence means that he is in the midst of recording new material. In the meantime, though, Steve has submitted a cover of the song "Dead" to the upcoming They Might Be Giants tribute album, "Hello Radio".
