Stephen Perkins


 

Stevie Perkins (born September 13, 1967 in Los Angeles, California) is a musician and songwriter. He plays drums and percussion. His most famous project is Jane's Addiction. Following the disolution of Jane's Addiction, Perkins continued to play with frontman Perry Farrell in the rock band Porno for Pyros. His own project is called Banyan and in the 1990s he was involved in Lil' Pit with Mike Watt. In 1991, he appeared as percussion player on Rage Against the Machine's first record.

In addidtion to Banyan, Perkins is currently working with Ex-Jane's guitarist Dave Navarro, bass player Chris Chaney (Who played bass for the last Jane's Addiction studio album Strays), and singer/guitarist Steve Isaacs on a new project, entitled The Panic Channel.

Perkins was also involved with members of Suicidal Tendencies in their Infectious Grooves side project, as well as Hellride, a Los Angeles-based Stooges cover band.
