Stephen Douglass

Stephen Douglass was born as Stephen Fitch in Mount Vernon, Ohio, USA on 27 September 1921. He has had a distinguished theatrical career and has appeared occasionally on television. He was the last performer to play 'Billy Bigelow' in the original Broadway production of 'Carousel' and he created the role in the West End production in London. He was nominated for the TONY Best Actor Award in 1956, for his peformance in Damn Yankees. He is married to the singer Christine Yates and he has appeared in several concerts for The Ivor Novello Appreciation Bureau at Littlewick Green. The record company Sepia Records have recently released a digitalised recording of his famous recording of 'Make a Wish'.
