Stenløse

Stenl?se is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Frederiksborg County on the island of Zealand (Sj?lland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 65 km?, and has a total population of 13,384 (2005). ts mayor is Willy Eliasen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party.

By January 1, 2007 Stenl?se municipality will cease to exist as the result of [[Municipalities of Denmark#Municipality_Reform_2007|Kommunalreformen ("The

Municipality Reform" of 2007)]]. It will be merged with existing Led?je-Sm?rum and ?lstykke municipalities to form the new Egedal municipality. This will create a municipality with an area of 126 km? and a total population of 39,267 (2005). The new municipality will belong to the new Region Hovedstaden ("Capital Region").
