Stella Gibbons

Stella Dorothea Gibbons (5 January, 1902—19 December, 1989) was an English novelist and poet. Her works include Cold Comfort Farm. Her family is said to have been "not dissimilar to the Starkadders" described in that novel.http://www.litencyc.com/php/speople.php?rec=true&UID=1730
