One example of stealth tax is in the United Kingdom, where the British Government is using revenue from speed cameras to help fund public spending. Another example in the UK is the use of National Insurance premiums. In the Labour Party's manifesto for the 2001 election, it was stated that, if elected, they would not raise income tax. Instead, they raised National Insurance contributions, which had much the same effect.
