Starbase

A starbase is usually portrayed as a facility strategically positioned in space used to repair and re-supply starships. They are often also connected to shipyard or drydock facilities.

Many sci-fi series use the idea of starbases in their story lines, most notable of which is Star Trek, which shows huge stuctures usually (but not exclusively) in orbit around planets.
