Staples High School
Originally built in 1884, Staples High School is a public secondary school located in the town of Westport, Connecticut. In an effort to accommodate the needs of the growing community, the school moved in 1958 to its present location on North Avenue. Today the high school offers a 25-meter long, 4.2 meter deep indoor pool and their own radio station, WWPT-FM (90.3 FM). In 2004 the Wall Street Journal listed Staples among the best public and private schools in the nation.

In 1980, the present campus was modernized to look like the times, build a Fieldhouse and Pool, a new music rehearsal room as well as connecting each of the separate buildings.

Currently going on right now, the campus is being completely renovated, resulting in the demolition of all old classrooms and fitting them in a brand new three-story structure. Also, renovations to the fine arts wing, Library and Cafeteria are to take place.

On May 23, 2005, SHS 1955 graduate Ronald Grecula was arrested without bail for a plot to create and sell a bomb to Al-Qaeda.
