Stanford Moore


 

Stanford Moore (1913 - 1982) was a U.S. biochemist. He won a Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1972, for his work on ribonuclease and for contribution to the understanding of the connection between chemical structure and catalytic activity of the ribonuclease molecule.

Moore graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 1935 and earned his doctorate in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in 1938.
