Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir

The Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir in Colombes, near Paris, France (also known as the Stade Olympique de Colombes, or plain Colombes to the locals) was the main stadium for the 1924 Summer Olympics and had a capacity of 45,000 at the time. It was later expanded to a capacity of over 60,000. Colombes was also the venue for the 1938 World Cup Final between Italy and Hungary.

Colombes hosted a number of French Cup finals and home games of the French national football soccer and rugby teams into the 1970s. It remained France's largest stadium until the renovated Parc des Princes was inaugurated in 1972. By that time, Colombes' capacity had dropped to under 50,000 due to more stringent safety regulations. The French national football team played its last game at Colombes in 1975.

French top-league rugby team Racing Club de France and professional football team RC Paris used Colombes as their home field until 1985 or so. These teams then moved on to other stadia and Colombes has not hosted any top-flight sporting event since then. Three of Colombes' four original stands were torn down in the late 1990s for safety reasons and the remaining stand is limited to a capacity of 7,000 due to its age.

Third-division football club Racing CP 92, the successor of the now-defunct RC Paris, is the highest-level team currently using Colombes as its home field. A refit of Colombes to top-flight football or rugby standards is highly unlikely in the near future, as the nearby 78,000-seat Stade de France is sitting empty most of the time without a home team and local authorities have been pressuring first- or second-division teams from the area to move there.
