St Bees


 
 

St Bees is a village on the Cumberland coast, 7 km S. of Whitehaven. It has a Church of England Theological College, founded in 1816 by Dr. Law, bishop of Chester; designed for students of limited means, a ruined priory church of Henry I's time was renovated for the accommodation of the college.

St Bees is home to St Bees School, an independent day and boarding school founded in 1583.
