While the school has become more secular in nature, it still retains much of its Episcopal traditions. The campus remains largely free of drugs and other common teen problems. Academically, St. Andrew's is often considered to be one of the finest schools in the country. It offers an average class size of eleven and state of the art facilities, including a new Arts center built in 2004. While the school is academically challenging in all disciplines, it is especially known for its English department headed up by Dr. John Austin and politically liberal faculty.
