Sremska Mitrovica
Sremska Mitrovica (Serbian: ??????? ????????? or Sremska Mitrovica, Rusin: ??????? ?????????, Croatian: Srijemska Mitrovica, Hungarian: Szávaszentdemeter, German: Syrmisch Mitrowitz, Latin: Sirmium) is a city located in the Vojvodina province of Serbia and Montenegro at 44.98° North, 19.61° East. As of 2002 the city had a total population of 39,041, while Sremska Mitrovica municipality had a population of 85,605. It is the administrative centre of the Srem District of Serbia.

The population of the Sremska Mitrovica municipality is composed of: Serbs (forming an absolute majority of 87%), Croats, Rusins, Roma, Hungarians, etc. Ethnically mixed families are also very common in this city. Up to 1991 many of them declared themselves as Yugoslavs.
