Southampton Solent University
Southampton Solent University (formerly Southampton Institute) is a university of 11,000 students based in Southampton, United Kingdom. It was made a university college on 1 November 2004 and, as such, now has the powers to award its own degrees. Formerly, degrees were accredited by Nottingham Trent University. It was upgraded to university status on August 15 2005.
