South Bend, Indiana
South Bend is a city located in St. Joseph County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 107,789. The city is the county seat of St. Joseph County{{GR|6}} It is the economic and cultural hub of the region commonly known as Michiana.

South Bend is adjacent to the University of Notre Dame and is home to several other colleges, including Indiana University South Bend, a campus of Indiana University. It also is home to College Football Hall of Fame, the South Bend Silver Hawks, Coveleski Stadium, and the South Bend Center for the Homeless. Schuyler Colfax, the 17th Vice President of the United States, is interred in the city cemetery.
