OVERVIEW

The Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) is the principal trade association representing the software and digital content industries. The SIIA was formed by the merger of the Software Publishers Association (SPA) and the Information Industry Association (IIA) in 1999. The SIIA is organized into six divisions: Public Policy, Anti-Piracy, Software, Content, Education, and Financial Information Services.

In addition to protecting the software and information industry through active public policy work, the organization has power of attorney to represent the interests of many of its members in protecting their intellectual property rights.

For more than twenty years, the SIIA has presented the annual Codie awards to the outstanding products and services as selected by the press, analysts, and members of the association.
