Calvin Cordozar Broadus (born October 20, 1971 (NB: some sources state 1972 as the year-of-birth) in Long Beach, California) is a rapper and actor. His mother nicknamed him "Snoopy" as a child, and he took the stage name Snoop Doggy Dogg when he began recording. He shortened his name to Snoop Dogg in 1996, when he left original record label Death Row Records and signed with No Limit Records. He is the cousin of RBX, Nate Dogg, and Daz Dillinger, and Uncle of Bow Wow

  • Snoop Dogg Appears as a hidden character in the "True Crime: Streets Of LA" Video Game, which was released for the Playstation 2, Xbox and Gamecube. He can be unlocked in a special mission known as "Dogg Patrol" in which he literately patrols the streets of LA as an undercover cop.
  • Was rumored to be the cousin of popular R&B singer Brandy.
  • He tried to launch his own clothing line called "Snoop Dogg Wear", but after some distribution and transport problems it bankrupted (even the internet site was shut down), though has never been gone off the market, because Snoop always and exclusively wears SD monogram-trademarked gear in TV broadcasted events.
  • Snoop Dogg is a nephew of a few Gap Band members.
