Sioux City, Iowa

Sioux City is a city located in Western Iowa. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 85,013. It is the county seat of Woodbury County{{GR|6}}.

Sioux City is at the navigational head of the Missouri River, about 90 miles north of Council Bluffs, Iowa, which is a suburb of Omaha, Nebraska on the Iowa side of the river. Sioux City and the surrounding areas of northwestern Iowa, northeastern Nebraska and southeastern South Dakota are sometimes referred to as Siouxland, especially by the local media.
