Sindal
Sindal is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in North Jutland County on the island of Vendsyssel-Thy at the top of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 242 km?, and has a total population of 9,425 (2005). Its mayor is S?ren Risager, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Sindal. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Neighboring municipalities are Frederikshavn and Skagen to the east, Hirtshals to the north, Hj?rring to the west, and S?by to the south. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ By January 1, 2007 Sindal municipality will cease to exist due to Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It will be merged with existing Hirtshals, Hj?rring, and L?kken-Vr? municipalities to form the new Hj?rring municipality.
