Simplistic
Simplistic is an adjective, describing something as overly simplified, i.e. not including all of the factors that actually should be considered. Example: "It turns out that the calculations of Newtonian physics are simplistic - Einsteinian physics demonstrate a much higher degree of complexity to the calculations, particularly when the measures of speed or time are larger than human scale."

The term is often incorrectly substituted when the word "simple" should be used, in the sense of simple that means "not possessing many attributes or complications." In a sense, "simple" is the opposite of "simplistic," in that simple means not complex, whereas simplistic points to an insufficient appreciation of how complex the thing described really is.
