Shunga ((春画) is a Japanese term for erotic pictures.

Shunga are in the ukiyo-e (floating world) style, usually executed in woodblock print format or, more rarely, as painted scrolls.

Translated literally, the Japanese word shunga (kanji: 春画) means picture of spring; "spring" is a common euphemism for sex.
