Shrone Hill
Shrone Hill or Shronel as it is now know, is a local landmark which lies 4km to the west of Tipperary Town on the Emily Rd. Under the occupation of Damer, he build a large residence behind the National School, the ruins of which can still be seen today. There are many local tales about Damer both fact and fiction but all contribute to the persona of the man who once held these lands.

In one of these tales, it is said that the local Filioch (poet), Liam ?Dall? o hEifernann wrote in one of is poems, that the Damer family would never survive in the area surrounding Shronel but that the oHeifernann (Heffernan) clan would. To this day there are Heffernan?s in the surrounding area but no Damer descendant ever survived.

It was also alleged that there was a secret tunnel build from his home in Mount Bruis to the sight of his new house in Shronel but the Shronel residence was never finish. I?m told locally that it was destroyed by locals angry at Damer?s misery, while been surrounded by the poor of West Tipperary.
