Shepherd's Bush

Shepherd's Bush is a district in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham situated 4.9 miles (7.9 km) west of Charing Cross.

Transport

The area is served by Shepherd's Bush, Central Line station and Shepherd's Bush, Hammersmith and City Line station of the London Underground. The stations are situated some five minute walk apart.

As a result of the current redevelopment work, a new station will be built on the Hammersmith and City Line at the Wood Lane overbridge, between Shepherd's Bush and Latimer Road stations. The station will be positioned east of Wood Lane and north of the line, to reduce the walking distance for those connecting with the Central Line.

A new bus station is also under construction. There will also be a station on the West London Extension line, (West London Line) which lies to the east of the site and runs between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction, sited between Kensington (Olympia) and Willesden Junction. To be called Shepherd's Bush due to open in late 2005/early 2006. The develeopment is due to open in 2007.
