Shekhar Kapur
Shekhar Kapur, born 1945 in British India (now Pakistan) is a renowned filmmaker from India. His works include the Oscar-nominated Elizabeth (1998), a semi-historical account of the early reign of Elizabeth I of England.

- The initial part of the movie "Barsaat" (1995) which starred Bobby Deol and Twinkle Khanna was reportedly directed by Shekhar Kapur. Rajkumar Santoshi handled the directorship after him and has the credits in his name.
Future projects include Long Walk to Freedom, The Last Full Measure, and Golden Age, a sequel to Elizabeth. Also 20th Century Fox is planning for him to direct two movies of Isaac Asimov's Foundation Trilogy. They are slated to be called Foundation and Second Foundation; further details are unknown.
