Transformation enthusiasts

Animal transformation fantasies appear to be common in children, but fascination with TF is not limited to them. There is no established term for those who hold an interest in transformations; the general expression is just "TF fans". This is distinct from identifying with or wishing to be an animal, a member of the opposite sex, etc; although fans would likely be much less adverse to a temporary change of shape.

Combining this with sexuality results in a transformation fetish.

Online communities of TF fans are forming. At the moment, the two prominent web comics featuring transformations for the sake of it are the technology-based, more character-driven El Goonish Shive and the somewhat younger, magic-based The Wotch. Dauntless, a recently created webcomic, will heavily involve shapeshifting in the upcoming plotlines.
