A Senior is:

• An elder
• A high-level position
• The older of two people of the same family with the exact same name, often a parent (for example, Ken Griffey, Sr.) See also Suffix (name)
• A surname (for example, Nassau William Senior)
• A student in the fourth and last year at a school, college, or university; see high school senior.
• The person who leads a cantus.
• Over the age of 50.

The opposite is junior.
