Secondary modern school
A Secondary Modern School was a type of secondary school that existed in Britain from 1944 until the early 1970s under the Tripartite System. Catering for those who had done poorly in their eleven plus examinations, they gained a negative reputation and came to justify the introduction of comprehensive schools.
