Sebastian Junger
Sebastian Junger (1962 - ) is the well known author of '. Published in 1997, it recounts the tale of the October 1991 "perfect storm", focusing on the loss of the Gloucester fishing boat Andrea Gail off the coast of Nova Scotia. It was subsequently made into a Warner Brothers motion picture.

At the time of the storm, Junger was recovering from a wound to the left leg that he suffered when working as a tree trimmer in the Boston area. His chainsaw had torn into his left leg.

Sebastian Junger is the also author of Fire (2001) and numerous magazine articles. He received a National Magazine Award for "The Forensics of War" in 2000. He was raised in Belmont, Massachusetts, graduated from Concord Academy in 1980, and received a B.A. from Wesleyan University in cultural anthropology in 1984. He currently resides in New York City.
