Scrub

Scrub has a number of meanings:

• to rub a surface hard, especially with a brush;
• low lying vegetation. An area whose predominant vegetation is scrub is known as scrubland.
• in video editing, to seek through footage.
• to cancel or postpone, as in scrub a Space Shuttle launch
• in U.S. slang, a novice or newcomer, as in a first-year student
• surgical scrubs are a kind of clothing designed for medical staff performing surgery. The television sitcom Scrubs is a play on this and the previous meaning.
• Scrub, in video game terminology, is a player who loses because he refuses to use certain powerful characters or techniques
• No Scrubs is the name of a song by TLC, from their 1999 album FanMail.
• A Deku Scrub is a fictional race in The Legend of Zelda.
