School of Visual Arts
The School of Visual Arts (SVA) is an art school in New York City. It was established in 1947 by co-founders Silas H. Rhodes and Burne Hogarth as the Cartoonists and Illustrators School and was later renamed in 1956. Today the school is located in the Gramercy and Chelsea areas of Manhattan, with a number of buildings catering to different art departments and student interests.
