~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The Scarpe is about a hundred kilometers long, of which two thirds has been turned into canals. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The source of the river is at Berles-Monchel near Aubigny-en-Artois. It flows through the cities Arras, Douai and Saint-Amand-les-Eaux.
