Saturn Aura

The Aura is a sedan produced by General Motors' Saturn brand. It debuted as a concept car at the North American International Auto Show in January 2005. The vehicle is set to enter production for the 2007 model year, replacing the Saturn L-series, which had seen lackluster sales.

The concept used a 250 hp (186 kW) 3.6 L V6 and a new 6-speed automatic transmission. That powertrain, along with a 210 hp (157 kW) 3.5 L V6 and 170 hp (127 kW) 2.4 L I4 will be offered in the production model. The Aura will be built on the GM Epsilon platform, and will share the Fairfax, KS assembly plant with the Chevrolet Malibu. General Motors has insisted that the concept pictured is virtually identical to the production version. It will likely lose the flaired wheel arches, 20" wheels, and orange backlighting on the steering wheel.

The Aura is intended to be a premium midsize sedan, with competitors such as the VW Passat and upper-level Honda Accords. The interior uses genuine titanium pieces in the dashboard. Navigation will be offered on all trim levels.
