Sandy Lam
Sandy Lam, also known as Lam Yik Lin (Chinese: ???) (b. April 26 1966) is a Canto-pop singer who sings songs in Cantonese, Mandarin and English. First known as a chaanmui (??), she became an enfant terrible, and is now almost as popular in Chinese communities as Anita Mui, Sally Yeh, and Faye Wong.

Lam is also the ex-wife of the famous Taiwanese singer-songwriter/producer Jonathan Lee.

Lam was born in Hong Kong and began her career at the age of sixteen after getting a job as a D.J. for Commercial Radio Hong Kong. She began her singing career in 1984 when she was signed to CBS Sony. Her first single was "I Don't Know What the Love Is". Lam has had a varied career, recording not only with CBS Sony in the 1980s, but also Warner Music, Capitol Records, Rock Records (Taiwan's largest independent label), and Virgin Records.

Inspired by Janet Jackson, Lam achieved her first success in the early 1990s. She achieved a break-through in China with the title song of At Least I've You There, her first album with Virgin. On her second Virgin album she covered Robbie Williams' "Better Man". Lam released a Mandarin-language album entitled Truly Sandy in December 2001. For the first time she also worked as a producer on this album, as well as co-writing four songs.

Lam has won many awards in the course of her career, including Best Regional Performing Female Artist, Best Album, Best Female Vocalist, the Asia Pacific Most Outstanding Female Artist, and an honourable Music Award for her contributions to the music industry.
