Worth researched the fifteenth century for ten years when writing her trilogy on the Wars of the Roses. She obtained privileges at the British Museum and visited university librairies across Canada and the U.S. She also interviewed several notable Ricardian scholars, including Peter Hammond and Bertram Fields, and made more than ten trips to England and Bruges to examine Ricardian sites. The first book in The Rose of York trilogy, Love & War, about Richard III's childhood and his love affair with Lady Anne Neville is the first of the three to be published as of January 2004, and has won seven of the nine won awards garnered by her trilogy. The Historical Novel Society's review of the book by author India Edghill noted that "This admirable historical novel belongs on the shelf of every Ricardian, next to Josephine Tey."
