:Like Bill Cosby, Jackson is arguing against the anti-intellectual message that success for young black males is better sought in the worlds of rap and sports than in the classroom. http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050113/REVIEWS/41228004/1001

He is perhaps best known for his roles in the Quentin Tarantino movies Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown, as Jedi Mace Windu in the prequel Star Wars Trilogy, and the Spike Lee movies Do The Right Thing, Mo' Better Blues and Jungle Fever. Thus, he is usually cast into roles that involve a cool, controlled, "in-the-know" black man. His roles almost always involve a memorable line delivery; and Jackson's trademark voice inflection lend heavily to this key attribute.

There's no mistaking the voice of Samuel L. Jackson. They can pump it out of a cartoon character, but it's still the voice of the Bible-spouting, snake-fighting movie star. Jackson provided voice-over for the Afro Samurai video game, based on the animated series that he produces and also voices.
Lakeview Terrace
Starring: Samuel L. Jackson, Patrick Wilson Review: The main problem with this treatise on racial politics undercover as an exercise in suspense is that the director, Neil LaBute, didn't write the script. LaBute is an incendiary playwright (Bash, The Mercy Seat, Fat Pig) who puts us in the company of misogynist men who slowly reveal their base instincts. Lakeview Terrace, written by David Loughery and Howard Korder, is obvious when you most want it to be stealth. Samuel L. Jackson stars as LAPD veteran Abel Turner, a widower who's hard on his two kids (Regine Nehy, Jaishon Fisher) and harder on his new neighbors. They would be Chris (Patrick Wilson), a white man, and Lisa (Kerry Washington), his black wife. Interracial coupling doesn't sit well with Abel. Not that you see much coupling, even during a strip party. Lakeview Terrace... Rating: 2 Stars
