Sam Perkins
Samuel Bruce Perkins (born June 6, 1961) was a professional basketball player, also known by the nickname "The Big Smooth."

Perkins played basketball for North Carolina (UNC). During his four years at UNC, Perkins was part of a core that won the 1982 NCAA Championship with Michael Jordan and James Worthy. Perkins played at the college from the 1980-1981 season to the 1983-1984) season, after which he was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks.
