Salisbury University
Salisbury University (Salisbury State University prior to 2001) is a nationally accredited, four-year comprehensive public university located in the city of Salisbury, Maryland on the Delmarva Peninsula. The school is part of the University System of Maryland.

The college was founded in 1925 as a two-year institution to train teachers. The course of study was increased to three years in 1931 and to four years in 1934. Between 1962 and 1995 several Masters Degree programs were approved. Currently, Salisbury University offers 35 distinct undergraduate and graduate degree programs. There are now four schools at the University, all of which are endowed (a rarity among public institutions):

The school has grown steadily since its founding and now is attended by approximately 6,366 undergraduate and 576 graduate students. Undergraduate minority enrollment is 16.4%. Most undergraduates (60%) live off campus. There are 1,707 residence hall spaces on campus. Tuition and fees for Maryland residents are $6,376 annually and $14,054 for non-residents. Including room and board, per annum expenses are approximately $13,308 and $20,986 for residents and nonresidents, respectively. About 77% of undergraduate students receive financial aid. Salisbury University awards nearly $1 million each year in academic scholarships. Approximately 10% of the incoming freshmen have academic scholarships.

Salisbury University's colors are maroon and gold. The school mascot is the Seagull. The school competes in the Atlantic Central Football Conference for football and the Capital Athletic Conference for all other sports. The school's radio station is WXSU, formerly WSUR.
