Sahalee was also to have hosted the 2010 PGA Championship. However, that was moved by the PGA of America to the Straits Course at Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, Wisconsin because of financial support in the Pacific Northwest during the same year as the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
