Sackler Library
The Sackler Library holds a large portion of the classical, art history, and archaeological works belonging to the University of Oxford. It was completed in 2001, replacing the former Ashmolean library. Its holdings incorporate the collections of four older libraries, namely the Ashmolean library, the Classics Lending Library, the Eastern Art Library, and the History of Art Library.

The Sackler Library was founded on a generous donation by multi-millionaire Dr Mortimer Sackler. Coincidentally, in the same year his daughter received an unconditional offer to study at Oxford.
