Rumbelows


 
 

Former UK electrical retail store that once rivalled Currys, Dixons and Comet before Thorn EMI, Rumbelows? owner, decided to pull out of the electrical retail business in 1995, closing all of the Rumbelows stores and selling many of the then former stores to the German PC retailer Escom. Escom itself then subsequently ceased trading in 1996 following financial difficulties.

Currys: Currys is an electrical retailer in the UK, and is owned by DSG International. It specialises in home electronics and household appliances, with 295 superstores and 73 high street stores. Their annual sales in 2003/04 were ?1,752 million....

Dixons: Dixons is an electrical retailer in the UK, and is owned by DSG International (formerly Dixons Group). With it's origins in a photographic shop opened by Charles Kalms, the chain now has a store in most UK towns and cities....

Comet: A comet is a small body in the solar system that orbits the sun and (at least occasionally)...
