Rumba
Rumba is both a family of music rhythms and a dance style that originated in Africa and traveled via the slave trade to Cuba and the New World.
African Rumba
A style called "Rumba" music has been popular in Africa since the 1950s. Some of the more well known Rumba artists include Franco Luambo, OK Jazz, Dr. Nico, Sam Mangwana, and Tabu Ley Rochereau. Later, the music evolved into Soukous.
