Royal League
The Royal League is an annual Scandinavian football tournament, starting after the end of the regular domestic seasons of Norway and Sweden. Denmark, however, are in mid-season when the tournament starts. The four best-placed teams in the football leagues of Denmark, Norway and Sweden participate in the tournament.

The first season of the tournament started on November 11, 2004, and ended in a final between FC København and IFK Göteborg on May 26, 2005, with FC København winning the title in a penalty shootout.

In the upcoming 2005-06 season, the Danish teams participating will be Brøndby IF, FC København, FC Midtjylland and AaB. From Sweden is two teams ready. It is Djurgårdens IF and IFK Göteborg The teams participating from Norway and the last two Swedish teams will not be known until their respective domestic leagues are finished in late October.
