Royal College of Science and Technology
The Royal College of Science and Technology was a predecessor organization of The University of Strathclyde, in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. It was merged with the Scottish College of Commerce to form the University in 1964. Formed in 1887 from the amalgamation of Anderson's College, the College of Science and Arts, Allan Glen's Institution, the Young Chair of Technical Chemistry and Atkinson's Institution as Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College. In 1912 it changed its name to Royal Technical College, after a permission was granted by King George V. It once again changed its name in 1956 to Royal College of Science and Technology.
