Ronee Lawrence
Ronee Lawrence is a fictional character played by Wendie Malick in the sitcom Frasier. Ronee used to babysit for Frasier and Niles Crane when they were children, and had a crush on their father Martin. She was the first woman to break Frasier's heart, as he used to watch her kiss her boyfriend through the bannisters. Ronee is also the reason why Niles compulsively wipes down the surfaces of chairs upon which he's about to sit, because she told him scary bedtime stories as a young boy that there were earwig eggs on all the furniture, which would hatch, crawl into his ears, and eat his brain, prompting him to wear a football helmet to bed for a month. After the kids grew up, she lost touch with the Cranes and over the next 40 years she got married, divorced, and had some plastic surgery. She also released an album, "Mood Swings", but it didn't sell that well so she started working at the Wellington Club as a lounge singer and piano player.

In 2003 she met Frasier again by chance while shopping for a Barcalounger at a furniture store and he invited her over to his place, where she met Martin again and fell in love with him. Martin finally summoned up the nerve to propose to her after suffering a mild "cardiac event", worried that she would consider him to be too old to marry him, although his fears were proved unfounded. They got married on May 15 (Eddie's birthday) the next year in a veterinarian's office just after David, Niles and Daphne Moon's son, was born, in the show's final episode, "Goodnight, Seattle".
